MICKEY MOUSE PARK

Picture
In the early 1950's, Walt Disney planned to build a small amusement enterprise directly across from the Disney Studios to be called "Mickey Mouse Park." Disney artist Harper Goff drew the map of the site as seen above. However, as Walt's ambitions grew, the site proved to be too small for the growing list of attractions Walt had in mind. It also didn't help that the city of Burbank was not completely sold off on the plan. In 1955, Disneyland opened its gates with a number of elements from Mickey Mouse Park in it: a Main Street, a steam train circling the property, a frontier town and a steam riverboat.

My intention is to design my way through Mickey Mouse Park creating story elements, concept art, elevations and eventually a fully realized model.

Stay tuned for updates!
